Someone suggested that I’d become a hermit this summer. Well, yes, I do believe that I have become a virtual hermit here in the mountains of Colorado! I do not have wi-fi and my reception is patchy. My intention to upload my writings once a week was quickly squashed by …. well, the fact that I’ve had little time to write.
I’m spending the summer with my babies. My babies, who have suddenly turned 10,7, and almost 5 before my very eyes. We hike, bike, swim, and wander each day – I’m amazed and proud by how curious and creative they are. This summer has been the absolute best summer of my motherhood….

Unplugging from the virtual to have virtually real is always the best choice. What better place than in those mountains. I remember those days of discovery with my girls. Hiking the trails, sloshing by river banks and the first or second time we went car camping. I will never forget it. I was in charge of putting together what we needed in the ice chests and my husband was in charge of the rest. Seemed like a good deal. So we get to our camp site, gorgeous right by the river bank, and he tells me to go sit by the fire ring and he will get everything out of the car…..with five kids at the time, now have six, our suburban was packed to the gills. He starts pulling out these camping chairs, cooking dutch ovens, coleman stoves, pots and pans, enamel ware cooking utensils and dishes, tents and tarps, ropes and bungies, lanterns and headlamps. I was amazed and said,”where did you get all this stuff”? His response,
“A catalog”. It was the best time ever and yes real men do shop catalogs……
Have a blast in your real world which will virtually change your mind and your heart about what is reality.
